I used to be so afraid to mix patterns and prints. Before I started blogging I was kind of conservative with my styling. Whether it be stripes or plaid with florals or bold and funky geometric patterns with other like patterns, I’m here to tell you do not be afraid to mix it up! The easiest way to dip your toes into mixing prints is to start with mixing florals and stripes or even plaids and florals together. It can be stripes on your top or bottom or florals on your top or bottom or even on your feet. I used to think the only thing that would go with a floral pattern was a solid. While this is still super cute and classy spice up your florals easily with some line patterns.
A Quick Tip… Match Colors. Pull together your prints whether it be stripes, plaids or even polka dots with one of the colors found in the floral pattern.
Usually, floral patterns have a lot of colors to choose from so you can really have fun with this and have more than one option. Remember, if you are stuck black and white strips will go with anything floral it is one of my favorite combos! I paired a simple black and white off the shoulder body suit with some floral silk pants. I also paired this body suit with a dark floral skort. Find pieces like this that can transition easily and be worn with literally anything!
I also love wearing this cotton body suit simply because I wanted the busy print patten on these pants to be the main focus. You can also add solid colors to break up busy patterns. A perfect example of that would be a solid color cami under a busy printed blazer.
When in doubt, black and white stripes will go with any pattern or print!

Don’t forget the shoes! I love the floral boot trend and I am guilty of wearing mine in the spring and even summer as well. Pair it with like colors with a simple plaid or stripe pattern and your floral or printed booties will be the main attraction.
Blogging and getting inspiration from other amazing fashion and style bloggers really has me coming out of my shell and having fun once again with style. Florals mixed with stripes have been a huge trend this spring/summer and will always be an easy fun way to pair pieces together. Do you have any favorite pattern or print mixing combos?
